Description: Description: UNVEILING INDIA’S HIDDEN TREASURE: ASSEMBLY BY VIIIC 25 JULY 2024 The enlightening assembly uncovered the ‘Unknown Festivals of India’, highlighting the cultural diversity and tradition that makes our country unique. The compere emphasised the importance of understanding and appreciating the multitude of festivals celebrated across different regions of India. Students took turns to presenting various unknown festivals of India with insights into the origin, rituals and significance of each festival. Some of them are: 1) CHAPCHAR KUT: A harvest festival celebrated by the Mizo people, marking the end of the agricultural cycle, with vibrant dances and feasts. 2) GANADHALU FESTIVAL: A lesser-known festival from Karnataka, celebrated by the Halakki Vokkaliga community to invoke blessings for the harvest. 3) LAI HARAOBA: Celebrated in Manipur, combining religious and cultural elements; honouring traditional deities through rituals and performances. Let us continue to explore and learn about our different cultural traditions, and foster unity and respect.
