Inter School Football and Basketball Tournaments 2024 kick starts at St. Edward’s School

The much-anticipated Inter-School Bishop Gilbert Rego Football and Brother Steinmeyer Basketball Tournaments 2024, commenced on Saturday in the grounds of St. Edward’s School. This prestigious event brought together eleven schools, all set to showcase their athletic talent. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Director of Physical Education and Youth Programme at H.P. University, a prominent member of the Indian Psychological Association and the Indian Bio-mechanics Association. Rajat Dhingra, a distinguished alumnus of the school and Under Secretary CBSE, Dheeraj Malik, attended as Guests of Honour. The day began with a March Past, featuring the participating schools: Bishop Cotton School, DAV New Shimla, Roots Country School, DAV Lakkar Bazaar, Auckland House School for Boys, JCB School, Mount Shivalik, Stokes Memorial Public School, St. Thomas’ School, Chapslee School and the host school St. Edward’s School. The School Sports Captain administered the oath, reaffirming the participants’ commitment to fair play and sportsmanship. The Chief Guest declared the tournaments open and met the teams. The School Principal, Reverend Father Anil Sequeira, felicitated the dignitaries and expressed gratitude for their presence. The first day was a display of fervour and zeal, all through. The tournament would offer a series of thrilling matches with camaraderie, sportsmanship, and athletic excellence.
