Celebrating a Century Together – A Legacy That Endures
The three-day Centenary Celebrations (11–13 October 2025) witnessed a grand confluence of alumni, former teachers, students and distinguished guests. His Lordship Bishop Ignatius L. Mascarenhas, His Lordship Bishop Sahaya Thatheus Thomas, Rev. Fr. Ambrose, and Rev. Fr. Angulus graced the occasion with their esteemed presence. The guests were cordially welcomed by the School Principal, Reverend Fr. Anil Sequeira.
The festivities commenced with a spirited Marathon from the Shimla Club to the school, followed by a series of vibrant events on the campus — the hoisting of the School Flag, the Centenary Torch Relay, and an array of sporting contests including relay races, cricket, football, basketball, table tennis, chess, and badminton matches between SEOBA members and current students. The day concluded on a melodious note with a sitar recital by alumnus Dr. Gagandeep Hothi.
The second day, themed 'Lumen Sequere – Follow the Light,' began with the unveiling of the statue of Blessed Edmund Rice and the release of The 100-Year Tapestry (Volumes I and II), authored by students and teachers to commemorate a century of Edwardian excellence. The day also featured a cultural presentation in the school hall and the Annual Awards Ceremony honouring academic achievers in the Board Examinations.
The final day marked the initiation of the Time Capsule, the inauguration of the Memorial Park, and an evocative Art Exhibition. The celebrations culminated with a vibrant cultural presentation and a fete organised by the Outreach Club.
Over three remarkable days, St. Edward’s School celebrated not just a hundred years of achievement but the enduring Edwardian legacy of faith, service and excellence—a legacy that endures.
