Description:
St. Edward’s School, Shimla, proudly marked a monumental milestone—100 illustrious years of excellence in education—with its Senior School Annual Function, held on 27 September 2025 under the centenary banner Festivista 2025. The celebrations unfolded with grandeur and deep reverence for the institution’s rich legacy. Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest was Bimal Gupta, Inspector General of Police, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Himachal Pradesh—a distinguished alumnus from the Class of 1989. In a symbolic gesture of sustainability and growth, Mr. Gupta planted a tree, leaving behind a living testament to the school’s enduring spirit. The event commenced with a ceremonial flag entry, followed by the soulful rendition of the school anthem and an impressive March Past by the NCC cadets. During the proceedings, Naik Mangal Man Gurung of the 4/1 Gurkha Rifles was honoured for his unwavering support and service. A captivating cultural programme transported the audience through a nostalgic journey, celebrating the school’s century-long heritage. The highlight of the evening, a thematic presentation titled ‘Yugam – A Spectrum of Time’, mesmerised all with its artistic storytelling, capturing the timeless ethos of St. Edward’s. In his keynote address, Mr. Gupta fondly reminisced about his Edwardian days and urged the students to embody the core values of discipline, service, and integrity—principles that have defined the Edwardian legacy for generations. School Principal, Reverend Fr. Anil Sequeira, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest and all dignitaries, culminating the evening with the iconic Edwardian chant.
